Built in 1854, but newly renovated in between 2015-2020 by New Orleans architect Trenton Gauthier, Margaret Place Hotel seamlessly bridges the worlds of futuristic luxury and historic architecture. The spaces: a large brick courtyard, industrial kitchen, eat-in dining room, and parlor lend themselves perfectly to any event, while feeling like a private party at your friend’s Garden District mansion. Even better, you have the choice of staying one night, or the weekend, with options to rent the bridal suite or occupy the whole place which encompasses 5 luxurious rooms in total. You won’t find a more dedicated staff both on the hotel and event side of things. Going above and beyond seems to be their calling.
The location, situated perfectly between Lower Garden District, Central City, and Downtown means every guest will have an easy time finding the Hotel and if they stay the weekend, there are countless options for the most fun “to-dos” New Orleans has to offer.
This venue has a max guest count of 200 for reception style events and ceremonies and 120 for fully seated meals. There is an amazing commercial kitchen which will have your caterers jumping for joy plus the capacity for outdoor cooking and food trucks. Parties at Margaret Place can go all the way til midnight, but it’s also perfect any time of day or night.
Couples who are attracted to Margaret Place will range from the history buff to the modernista and everything in between. The space has been battle tested and comes with fully furnished interiors that can be made totally empty if that’s the couple’s preference. Amenities are plenty at the hotel; 5 bathrooms on the ground floor for guest use, an in house PA system that will knock your socks off, uplighting and festoon lighting included with every rental and of course gorgeously minimal interiors that are the perfect backdrop to most decor styles. Couples love that the night can go a bit later than other places in the city and that the hotel staff thrive on being flexible. It’s a BYO everything venue, so it’s most suitable for those who want to choose their own caterer, bar, furniture, planner (required), and well… everything!
In our humble opinion, the best use of the space is for 120 person weddings with killer bands when the weather is perfect.
