Beauregard-Keyes House

N.O.L.A. Venue Search - Beauregard Keyes House

When using any of Beauregard Keyes House's 3 unique event spaces, you’ll be transported to a French Quarter from the history books.

What
From BKhouse.org, “The Beauregard-Keyes House is a National Historic Landmark built in 1826 and restored to its present condition by renowned author Frances Parkinson Keyes beginning in 1948. An outstanding example of the raised cottage, it was designed by François Correjolles, who incorporated both Creole and American features in a well-detailed residence that remains largely in original condition. As the only example of its type open to the public, the museum offers a unique educational experience to visitors and furthers the understanding of New Orleans history.”

The location, situated on the back end of the French Quarter near Esplanade Avenue and Decatur Street means every guest will have an easy time finding the House and if staying the weekend, there are countless options for the most fun “to-dos” New Orleans has to offer.  It also means, while renters will get the “best” parts of the French Quarter; architecture, iron work, and history, they will be able avoid the loudest partiers on Bourbon Street (unless they’re into that sort of thing!).

The house has ample indoor space, a gorgeous rose garden, and a large courtyard in the back of the house overlooked by a wide, memorable balcony, bouquet toss anyone?

This venue has a max guest count of 300 for reception style events and 120 for fully seated meals.  There is an no usable kitchen on site, but that never stops caterers from setting up professional level kitchens in the driveway next to the house.   Weddings and events at BK House can go all the way ‘til 10pm, but it’s also perfect at magic hour.

Who

Couples who are attracted to BK House will range from the history buff to the quirky antique lover to everything in between.  For those who love the way the French Quarter looks and feels it is an obvious choice.  It’s both romantic and charming, with enough space to host a large group.  It’s also a BYO everything venue, so it’s most suitable for those who want to choose their own caterer, bar, furniture, planner (required), and well… everything!

Bands, DJs and musicians of all types are welcome (just not inside the house!) and the BK House events team is beyond seamless to work with.

How

To rent the Beauregard Keyes House reach out to director@bkhouse.org and set up a time to take a tour with Annie.  She is super helpful and knowledgeable of all things BK House.   If you do choose to host your event at BK House, the BKco team will be alongside you as venue managers through your planning process and offer discounted planning rates for BK Brides and Grooms.

BKco has been venue managing for Beauregard Keyes House since 2018 and we love working with the director, docents and staff during wedding seasons.  Not only is the space an homage to history, but we love the location and the fact that it's one of the only truly "build your own event" venues in the city.
